Pension schemes 'highlighted by NAPF promotional film'

A new film has been released to encourage employees to learn about the importance of signing up to pension schemes.

The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has produced the 15-minute film, which is targeted at those who either do not have a pension or who may need to save more.

Titled the Long Weekend, it will be customisable by companies looking to include information on their own pensions schemes within the movie.

Joanne Segars, chief executive of the organisation, claimed that it is a fun and fresh way for people to learn about the importance of workplace saving.

She said: "Our new film will help people catch the savings bug so that they have a better chance of a secure and enjoyable retirement. We hope it will have a significant impact on people's attitudes towards saving for retirement."

Tom McPhail, head of pensions research at Hargreaves Lansdown, recently claimed that a good pension scheme should help firms recruit, reward and retain their workforce.
