Employee Rewards and Benefits News
'Honesty is the best policy'
The age-old adage has received fresh support from an industry expert who emphasised the importance of having a frank relationship between employers and staff.
Employers should be honest about employee reward, flexible benefits and the overall working and health of the company with their members of staff, it has been suggested.
Claire McCartney, resourcing and talent planning adviser at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, pointed out that such a relationship will encourage greater transparency as well as improve productivity in the workplace.
She said: "The relationship and contract between employee and employer works both ways and employees need to ensure that they are actively seeking out development opportunities and contributing their best in this difficult climate."
A recent piece of research conducted by the chrysaliscourses.co.uk found that a third of the British workforce do not feel appreciated in their office, while another 63 per cent were actively seeking to change career directions owing to job dissatisfaction.
