Employee Rewards and Benefits News
Demand for flexible working is on the rise
Employee benefits which allow for greater flexible working are the need of the hour, according to the Work Foundation.
Stephen Overell, associate director for The Work Foundation, pointed out that flexible work arrangements were beneficial for both employees as well as employers.
He said: "It is true that there is an awfully long way to go and I think in the future we will see much more adoption of flexible working and many more different forms of flexible working. So it is no surprise that people want more of it."
His comments follow in the wake of recent research, carried out by Hays, which revealed that 46 per cent of workers reported that their employers did not make allowances for flexible working.
Another report published by PricewaterhouseCoopers indicated that flexible working arrangements were valued the most by both male and female employees. That is, a work-life balance was ranked higher than increases in responsibility and salary.
