NAPF announces final details of pension conference
The National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) has announced a number of final details and an invitation regarding its Annual Conference and Exhibition for 2010.
As the collective voice of nearly every private sector pension scheme in the UK, the NAPF sees this gathering as especially important given that pensions are moving up the political, economic and business agendas.
The NAPF explained that with pensions saving, public sector pensions, taxation and corporate governance coming to the fore, it wants to ensure that the conference explores each topic through a number of keynote speakers.
As such, MP Iain Duncan Smith - the current secretary of state for work and pensions will be joined by Lord Lamont of Lerwick, Lord Coe and Nigel Labram, the chief executive officer of BT Pension Scheme Management, and others.
Four separate programme streams have also been named, including those centering on finance directors, defined contribution pension schemes, defined benefit schemes and human resource professionals.
Today, members of the NAPF provide retirement incomes to 15 million people through 1,200 separate pension schemes with combined assets of nearly £800 billion.
