Employee reward and benefits news
London Olympics 2012 to drive up employee benefits?
Businesses in London may have to ramp up their employee benefits efforts during the Olympics in order to keep things running smoothly.
This is the view of Transport for London, which has urged small and medium-sized businesses to allow flexible working in order to ease the pressure on public transport.
However, writing on gorowe.com, Cali and Jody note that some bosses who have never before managed virtual workers may have some concerns about letting their employees operate from home.
They advised that managers measure the success of home working on results, much as they would in the office. Specific, measurable goals must be set, and the results considered, note the writers.
"If [you are doing] so, you need not worry about when your employee is working, and when they’re cheering for Team GB to win the gold," they pointed out.
Bosses in the capital who want more advice on how to handle their workforce during the Olympics can sign up for a free webinar taking place on February 9th called My Employees Aren't Working From Home: They're Watching the Olympics!.
