Employee reward and benefits news
Ed Miliband attacks PM over City employee reward schemes
Labour leader Ed Miliband has attacked City employee reward schemes, saying that prime minister David Cameron and his government are "part of the problem".
He criticised the coalition for dismissing proposals to include an ordinary worker in remuneration committees - a scheme designed to put the employee benefits into perspective.
During Prime Minister's Questions, the leader of the opposition accused Cameron of being against transparency.
"We have now heard it all, because you said that the class war is going to be led by you and your Cabinet of millionaires. I don't think it's going to wash," he said.
However, Mr Cameron then hit back, noting that the last Labour government agreed to a Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) bonus pool of £1.3 billion.
This comes after Mr Miliband was credited with forcing RBS boss Stephen Hester, to waive his £1 million bonus by vowing a commons vote on the employee benefit.
