Consultants own the delivery of projects for their clients, from their initial implementation to ongoing change, including Benefit Selection Windows.

The Consultant manages the full lifecycle of a project to deliver Darwin and is accountable for the quality of all outputs.  They may also perform more complex configuration on Darwin if required. They are responsible for effort estimation for projects and proactively tracking project budgets using JIRA, managing change control and end-to-end risk and issue tracking.

They consult on the use of Darwin to most effectively manage our clients’ benefits schemes, by gathering requirements and then presenting the best practice solutions to meet these needs, for initial launch and successful ongoing benefit administration processes.

Consultants will share their knowledge and experiences across Solutions Delivery and help to develop team methodologies.

 

What will you be doing:

  • The successful management and delivery of client projects in the role of Project Lead including:
    • Consulting with clients to gather benefit and system requirements and documenting in Benefit & Darwin Specification (BDS)
    • Managing project plans, actions, risks and issues in line with Thomsons’ methodology (ID3)
    • Demonstrating strong stakeholder management and communication skills throughout the project lifecycle that leads to successful outcomes and positive client feedback
    • Accountability for quality, budget and timely delivery of own projects
    • Accountability for successfully managing scope and Change Control
    • Preparing system functional specifications (Benefit & Darwin Specification – BDS)
    • Managing testing of new and existing functionality to defined specifications/requirements and supporting clients in this activity
  • Input into pre-sales activity with the Business Development team where required
  • Support of the advancement of the Solutions Delivery team through developing methodologies, supporting and mentoring colleagues and active participation in knowledge sharing and Learning & Development

 

We are looking for a PINK person, with:

  • 2 – 4+ years of consulting/project/programme management experience
  • Ideally previous employee benefits technology experience, and/or payroll/industry knowledge
  • A proven track record of managing and delivering technology project/programme initiatives and consulting engagements, often reporting directly to senior stakeholders and managing multiple teams
  • A strong understanding of the project lifecycle and the ability to employ these concepts in process design, system implementation and the development of client deliverables
  • Practical use and experience of structured project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of project management tools e.g. MS Project, Workbench
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Systems configuration and implementation experience
  • Flexible and creative ways of working to manage effective delivery in varied, challenging situations
