Learning and Development Business Partner

As a Learning and Development Business Partner, you will be working within the Cluj People Team, as part of our Global People Team – being involved in everything related to learning and development at Thomsons.   

The main purpose of your role is to develop and maintain our learning culture @Thomsons, by implementing and supporting our Learning & Development strategy (all learning related activities), facilitate the design, planning and implementation of our ongoing learning programmes.



What will you be doing:

  • Delivering the L & D strategy based on feedback from e-Pulse, Personal Development Plans and discussions with relevant stakeholders to create development opportunities for all of our people
  • Work together with Head of People, Cluj Leadership Team and the UK L&D Business Partner to help shape the Thomsons training strategy, conduct skill gap analysis and training need analysis
  • Design and Deliver Line Management training through various channels (Webinar, F2F, Lunch & Learn, e-learning etc.) 
  • Help develop personal development plans for all employees with a self-led approach, supporting managers and individual contributors where needed and collation for common skills areas 
  • Deliver the new joiners induction training through the Welcome @Thomsons induction days
  • Review and update (in conjunction with the Darwin Enablement team and the UK) the Welcome @Thomsons content and delivery – including onboarding and various learning paths
  • Utilise and promote our online tools (Harvard Manager Mentor, Litmos, Elucidad, PluralSight etc) to maximum effect and report on the efficiencies and courses being utilised
  • Manage all our training events: liaise with various training providers, schedule training sessions and ensure facility setup and attendees communication and engagement
  • Work with the UK L & D Business Partner to track spend on the L&D budget and ensure that we maximise it at its fullest potential
  • Create engaging communications that entice in delegates but also that show as complete package of development and ensure that everyone understands that development is self-led with support from our business (a complete brand) 
  • Provide statistics and data to Thomsons to demonstrate ROI vs investment into training
