Thomsons are delighted to announce our client Bristol Myers-Squibb has won gold in the Benefits category at the 2017 Workforce Optimas Awards.

Now in its 26th year of operation, the Workforce Optimas Awards recognise human resources and workforce management initiatives that overcome challenges and achieve results for the business.

BMS were awarded the accolade for their success in ‘streamlining benefits in a large, global organization’.

With 27,000 employees across 46 countries, the global biopharma company was challenged with a paper-based, low-tech benefits process. Partnering with Thomsons Online Benefits, BMS streamlined and automated administration across 25 countries within 12 months (and now 36 countries as of October 2017). As a result, they have instant access to a single source of data, reduced administration time and they have eliminated the need for paper. They have also centralized their benefits while keeping a local touch to overcome local tax laws, language barriers and cultural expectations.

Following news of the award win, Chris Bruce, Managing Director and co-founder of Thomsons, has commented:

“We are thrilled that BMS has won this prestigious industry award. BMS have automated their administration and centralized their benefits in 36 countries, and all in the shortest amount of time in Thomsons’ history. It makes us very proud to know they have been recognised for such an amazing achievement”.
