We’re on a journey to ‘Change benefits. For good.’ It’s a big goal, an exciting one and one that drives everything we do, every single day. We want to bring our clients on the journey with us, so every year we host our client-only event, Reward Club Day. The aim of the day is to meet our clients face-to-face to share our ambition and plans to revolutionise the world of employee benefits, discuss our unique proposition with Mercer, and inspire attendees to drive real change in the benefits market.

With the continuous growth of our incredible client base, 2019 was the first year we ran not one but three Reward Club Day events! The #RCD2019 global tour stopped in the US, UK and Singapore and welcomed over 150 global clients.

We kicked off in June with a brand new US event held in San Francisco. We were thrilled to be able to show our US clients the huge level of investment and innovation that’s gone into our software, Darwin. Attendees really engaged with our data analytics session in particular, as we discussed the value and advantages of harnessing the power of Darwin data.

Next stop was our 14th annual event in the UK! Three of our clients – The Coca-Cola Company, Publicis Sapient and Simplyhealth – stood up to tell their benefits stories, with peer-led discussion after each session. Simplyhealth’s Fred Dobson told us how they completely overhauled their benefits offering to give employees flexibility, choice and a better work-life balance – with a 96% benefits take-up rate!

As an element of the day was on the importance of wellbeing, we welcomed three providers to the event – Unmind, Cycle2Work and Hatch – to give our clients a better understanding of the mental, physical and financial wellbeing offerings on the market. One of our breakout sessions also touched on a very important topic; how to best support your employees dealing with cancer. It made such an impact that our attendees voted for us to donate £500 to Cancer Research UK as part of our bi-monthly charity initiative.

Our final Reward Club Day was held in Singapore, overlooking Gardens by the Bay. Following our inaugural event last year, popularity increased over two thirds and we welcomed more clients than ever before. Attendees enjoyed lunch and networking before a series of sessions in the afternoon. The most popular session was a panel discussion on the best way to capitalise on the latest HR trends. Our panellists, including KC Sin from Credit Suisse and Kieran Maher from Google, shared their perspective on how the HR landscape has evolved and what they’ve put in place to overcome these challenges.

Most importantly, all three events gave us the opportunity to catch up with our clients in person and get a better understanding of how we can help them achieve their goals and navigate the ever-changing HR landscape. We thoroughly enjoyed giving attendees the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with their industry peers.
