As the world’s leading live entertainment and e-commerce company, Live Nation Entertainment (which includes Live Nation and Ticketmaster amongst its brands) continuously strives to increase the employee engagement of their workforce.
Being a part of a highly competitive market, Live Nation Entertainment knew that if they wanted to continue to be the industry-leader they needed to completely restructure and rethink their approach to their employee engagement and benefits plans. But, an essential part of this strategy was to support the selection of cost-effective benefits and teaching their employees the ins and outs of their package, while still having employees feeling “fanatical” about working there.
Thomsons Online Benefits designed and implemented an online benefits platform – Live Benefits – to engage and teach employees about the full reward package offered to them. A more flexible benefits scheme was implemented to help inspire staff and to attract and retain the best talent possible. It was designed to cater to their diverse workforce and deliver back-to-basics financial education for all employees.
Live Nation Entertainment also wanted to create a social office space that promoted health and wellbeing along with educating people on how to improve their health, and redesigned their workspaces to fulfil this brief. They created this environment by having onsite fitness facilities, shared eating areas, free healthy snack-stations and onsite activities such as Yoga, boxercise and circuit classes.
During the benefits selection window, over 91% of Live Nation’s employees logged in to Live Benefits. As a result of the strategic, long-term planning, and effective communications to all employees, pension’s take-up increased from 38% to 74% in three years (more than 20% in the past year). Furthermore, employees rating of the ease of signing up increased by 17.3% and their rating of their overall employee benefits scheme increased by 13.4%.
Helping all our younger employees understand that their financial future is important is hard; helping them understand the benefits that contribute to their future is even harder. In the span of just four years we transformed our company culture so that financial health and wellbeing sat at its heart. By working with Thomsons and using the power of technology and amazing employee communication we were able to engage our employees in their benefits and to make it fun for them, resulting in over 90% employee engagement!
